and sharpen its identity, system elements, and portfolio. We were tasked with bringing larger brand clarity throughout all of Adobe’s products, experiences, and offerings. In doing so, Adobe sought to maintain its position as a category leader and look to the future by continuing to define itself as a champion for creativity. We focused on its iconic brand elements and behaviors through simplicity and precision. Reimagining Adobe’s mark inspired by Marva Warnock’s 1982 design, we created a confident logotype that felt both inevitable and timeless—like it had always been an integral part of the brand’s DNA. The intention behind this shift was to consistently emphasize the Adobe name rather than requiring additional mental connections between logos, wordmarks, and lockups. Drawing from its rich heritage, we clarified and refined its color palette, collaborated with Adobe’s type design team and MCKL Type to develop a cohesive display typeface that would mark the evolution of the Adobe Clean family, and introduced refreshed product lockups. New to the system is the Adobe Lens; a unifying graphic device symbolizing the brand’s portal to transformation and creativity. This comprehensive update extended across Adobe’s product ecosystem, establishing a scalable design system. By balancing product differentiation with brand unity, the system ensures a seamless, recognizable presence across all platforms. Angeles, Mother US sits at the center of the creative industry yet far from much of the country. This distance can create a disconnect from small-town America, which may lead to work that unintentionally misrepresents real lives. To bridge this gap, Mother took a 14-week road trip to learn directly from the source—resulting in HEARTLAND, an honest and inspiring portrait of Heartland America today. In order to authentically present the research, the goal was to design an artifact that felt native to the Heartland rather than reflective of an outsider’s perspective. Eschewing the traditional hardback, thick-papered coffee table format, the design drew inspiration from the utilitarian language of product manuals and field guides, resulting in a spiral-bound multi-format book. Interspersed throughout are materials inspired by road travel such as postcards, foldout brochures, and maps. The result encapsulates the experience of collecting items along a road trip, compiled into an expansive narrative. Each section is designed with its own look and feel to represent the breadth of American visual culture. Type is inspired by classic Americana, vernacular typography, and sign-painting. Photo treatments are inspired by DIY techniques and the textures of agriculture and industry. A foldout map, illustrated by Heartland-native Paul Windle, depicts everyday scenarios described in the book. The New York Public Library worked with Mother to hack a familiar format with the goal of putting literature in the hands of as many readers as possible.&nbsp; The campaign identity is based on evenly stacked lines of text, inspired by the NYPL logo. The color approach takes the library’s existing shade of red and pairs it with a cream, reminiscent of book pages, and a complementary blue.&nbsp; To sucessfully bring full texts to Instagram stories, the entire format had to be reinvented. Margins were set to adapt to Instagram UI. The typeface Georgia was chosen, designed specifically for comfortable reading on screen. A flip-book-style illustration was placed where the reader’s thumb would go while reading the page.We worked with five illustrators, animators, and designers from across the world to bring the books to life, collaborating with them to create animated covers, chapter dividers, and thumb-rest illustrations.&nbsp; Insta Novels brought nearly 100k new followers to the @NYPL account in the first few weeks of its launch.
